* Peter Zimmermann was born in Freiburg im Breisgau in 1956. from 1979 to 1984 he studied at the State Academy of Fine Arts Stuttgart. He has lived and worked in Cologne since 1984, where he has held the professorship of the art college for media since 2007.

* He became known for his diverse works as a painter, sculptor and object artist. His “Book Cover Paintings” have been created since the late 1980s, where he brought book titles from travel guides on canvas.
