On offer is this rare Ceramiberica framed tile wall hanging. It features a ship and ocean theme on 4 hand-painted, glazed tiles. The wooden frame has been painted with a complementary shade of muted bluish-green. Made in Seville, Spain. Estimated to be vintage circa 1970s. A great piece for nautical enthusiasts.
The only information I could find about the company, Ceramiberica, is that it was a Sevillian company created in 1970 by Antonio Gimena, Enrique Llacer and the ceramist Antonio Caro Parra.
Approximate frame measurements: 15″ square by 1.25″ deep. Each tile is about 5.5″ square. This is a substantial piece weighting approximately 6lbs. 6oz.
