Vintage Design
Peter Løvig Nielsen was a Danish designer who was best known for his elegant and functional furniture designs. He was born in 1931 and his work falls within the Danish modernist tradition that flourished in the 1950s and 1960s. We now also call this movement Mid Century Modern. One of his best-known designs is the exclusive “Boomerang Desk” in rosewood. This spacious desk is known for its unique shape, which is somewhat reminiscent of a boomerang, hence the name. The design is typical of the Scandinavian aesthetic, with clean lines, organic shapes and attention to craftsmanship. The piece of furniture is a so-called executive desk par excellence and has a beautiful finish on all visible sides. The rear with its space for books and a hidden bar behind the flap door also complete it. Also take a look at the beautiful raised edge on the desktop, refined and beautifully beautiful. The Boomerang Desk has often been praised for its slim profile and smart layout, which combines functionality with an aesthetically pleasing design. The use of rosewood gives the piece of furniture a warm and luxurious appearance, typical of exclusive Scandinavian design from that period.
