As editor of the Goed Wonen magazine, Hein Salomonson supported the modern style living in the Netherlands during the rebuilding years. He also was one of the architects of the ‘Nieuwe Bouwen’ style, the Dutch branch of the International School of Modernism. Salomonson drew inspiration from the work of modernist architects such as Le Corbusier and Gerrit Rietveld. The AP 103 table is advertised in the Goed Wonen catalogue of the late 1950ies. Together with producers such as Pastoe, Gispen and Ahrend de Cirkel, Ap originals was one of the Dutch modernist furniture companies during the fifties.
The black and white color scheme make it a perfect match for a set colored Revolt or Result chairs by Friso Kramer.
