Sculptural coffee table from the renowned manufacturer Ronald Schmitt after a design by Knut Hesterberg from the 1960s.
The profession of Hesterberg as a sculptor is also shown in his furniture designs. His tables are particularly characterized by the sculptural table frames. He excavates the possibilities of the aluminum material in the design. This is particularly evident in the execution of this table foot with the finely carried out connection of the two rings of the frame. The round table top is on the upper ring. The lower part of the foot is also dissolved in a ring analogously to the upper part.
