A stunning rare coffee table features a meticulous hand notched chessboard parquet design by the famous Poul Cadovious for France and Sons, Denmark. This stunner doubles as a checkerboard as it has 64 squares. Glide base legs are rendered in solid teak. Retains an original France and Sons serial numbered medallion under table top representing the highest quality furniture produced in Denmark.
France and Sons is a Danish manufacturing firm responsible for producing many Mid-Century Modern and Danish Modern pieces of furniture. The company was founded in part by Charles France from England and Eric Daverkosen of Denmark.
