Jean Paul Gaultier’s designs always have a particular erotic drama to them. The rib-knit forms the skirt yoke to which the chiffon is attached in jagged arches at hip level. A warped waistline questions the finesse of the dress that is contrasted by the chandelier draping of the skirts handkerchief hem which is finished by the chiffon being tied into knots. This Gaultier design is eerie as it conveys a delicate yet distressed sentiment.
