Italian Brass and Black Wood Sideboard, 1950s

Wonderful Italian sideboards of the mid-century, precious in its processing. This sideboards has a very luxurious appearance, due the use of not common materials and the design, in characteristic Italian style of Paolo Buffa, Vittorio Dassi and Osvaldo Borsani.

All polished in black shellac. The structure is in wood, the top is smooth and polished in black shellac as well as the four doors and the sides. There are four doors, two central and two lateral that can be opened with brass keys. The sideboard is raised from the ground with a particular leg in the shape of a “bridge”, classic of that period. The leg is very beautiful in its design and makes the sideboard a one-of-a-kind piece. On the front the two central doors have a frieze bordered with a wooden molding; the frieze is made with gold leaf dipped in a resin casting, very beautiful and particular. Internally well finished and well-polished, it has a shelf for part.

The sideboard has been restored respecting the canons of the period of construction of this. The expert craftsman of our interior workshop has been able to perfectly capture the type of restoration in the wooden part, maintaining the state but perfectly re-polishing the beech wood. For each piece, before the departure, a revision is redone, to make sure it arrives in excellent condition.
