Rare set of four original “Duc” lounges chairs in a rich cognac leather by Mario Bellini for Cassina, Italy, c.1970s. Leather-wrapped panels are attached by zippers (a classic Bellini design element) to create the base structure for the chairs. The thick box cushions sit freely inside the frame, allowing for very comfortable seating. The piping on the cushions adds a delicate detail to chairs that many might think of as a masculine form. This set is part of the Duc collection which was designed in 1976 – all of them exude sophistication.

The Duc series was originally designed for the European market, and was not imported to American showrooms. In 2020, Bellini revisited the form and designed the Duc-Duc which did away with the cushy boxed side cushion and added a wood block base and small throw pillow inside to line each side of the inner frame.

These would work great in a living room, screening room, lobby, hotel, etc…
