The late 17th century and the early 18th century was considered to be the ‘Golden Age of the Tile’, the so-called Cycle of the Masters. Mass production was started not just because of a greater internal demand, but also because of very large orders from Brazil. Large one-off orders were replaced by the less expensive use of repetitive tile patterns. Churches, monasteries, palaces and even houses were covered inside and outside with tiles, many with exuberant Baroque elements.

Item condition: Some tiles with old repairs. Some chips and flaws along the Tile Mural Panel. Age weathered surfaces. Condition is appropriate for age and use. See photos for complete assessment.

Note: The tile mural panel is glued to a wooden board, the tiles were applicated with plaster to the wooden board, they can be removed but only by a professional.

Handcrafted Steel Frame Mosaic Heart Wall Art, inset with glass tiles, glass mosaic pebble “gems,” carnelian cabochons, and a heart shaped carnelian stone.

Several of the tiles and glass gems have iridescent or sparkling qualities that catch the light.

The stones are set in a mushroom brown toned grout cement.

Sturdy loop soldered to back for hanging.
