Vintage Design
1970s Wall mounted console in pine wood. Modest size. Aestethic clean and angular lines, There are no decorative elements, all attention is focused on the appearance of the natural wood grain and the finger joint wood connection of the pull out swivel drawers. Van Apeldoorn’s work can be seen in the midcentury context of Danish and Dutch functionalisme, influenced by Gerrit Rietveld and Cees Braakman.
The use of p ine wood also strongly refers to traditional Skandinavian furniture / Shaker style. This piece would make a great addition to Tapiovaara, Wegner or Mogensen collection. The compact design and the material evokes a warm atmosphere.
