In this listing you will find a large ceramic and very decorative garden stool or plant stand in the shape of an elephant made in blue and white ceramics. A saddle seat and blanket on the elephant are glazed with celadon hues, laced with cobalt blue and white; the assortment of delicate patterns — reflecting Chinese and Arabic influences — suggest the romance of the Silk Road. The elephant stands patiently, pausing in its forward trot, eyes gleaming, almost ready to embark. Perfect addition as the patio or garden stool that goes very well together with any colours and styles. Made in Belgium in 1960s. Very good vintage condition with some signs of time and use.
